WHY Lysol to kill the cockroach?

We have this research project about the cockroaches. We used different types of liquids to know what else it could kill pests instead of pesticides. Now, of all 4, Lysol seemed to be more effective. We have to investigate why this was possible. Please give me links explain, please, and also mention what you know. (Chemicals found in Lysol that affected the most cockroaches, etc) Thanks!

It could be the alcohol in it. Alcohol burns in the skin of the insect.
